To Dispensing Patients:
The Surgery Dispensary is now sending out text messages when your medication is ready to collect.
Please note that if you have sent in multiple requests, then you may receive multiple text messages if each of these prescriptions have been issued separately.
If you have an appointment at a HUB and they issue you a prescription, it will be sent to the online prescription database. You can then collect it from any pharmacy. Dispensing patients will NOT be able to get these prescriptions from the Surgery Dispensary as we cannot do outside prescriptions.
The Department of Health and Social Care has announced the new NHS prescription charges in England.
From 1 May 2024, the NHS prescription charge will rise to £9.90 The cost of an NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) will be:
The cost of an NHS Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) PPC will be £19.80.
People who pay for their NHS prescriptions could save with a PPC. Rather than paying £9.95 for each prescription, the 3 and 12 month PPC covers unlimited NHS prescriptions for the one-off set price. This means if people need 4 or more items in 3 months, or 12 or more items in 12 months they will save money by buying a PPC. How much they can save depends on the number of prescriptions they need each month.

On 1 April 2023, a new Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) will be introduced to reduce the cost of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). If you are prescribed HRT, check if an HRT PPC will be more suitable for you. It covers an unlimited number of listed HRT medicines.

From Tuesday 12th May, all non-dispensing patients need a nominated pharmacy. Non-dispensing patients can no longer come in to collect scripts. This is a government NHSE policy.
If you are a non-dispensing patient and you don’t have a nominated pharmacy, please let us know which pharmacy you would like all your future prescriptions to be sent to.
On the 2nd Tuesday of every month we are closed from 1pm for staff training.
